New Title
Now that the title “chairman” of the Board of Supervisors has been replaced by “county mayor,” the county must update a host of items carrying the old title--from plaques to business cards. . . . Letterheads might be another story, because County Mayor Mike Antonovich will hold the title only until December, when Zev Yaroslavsky will assume the not-so-powerful post.
Book Smarts
Lots of Warner Bros. stars will be out for the TV network’s Halloween open house today at the Burbank Media Center from 5 to 8 p.m. . . . The public is being asked to bring a new or used book to benefit “First Book,” a nonprofit group that helps provide books for disadvantaged children.
