Injury update: Canyon quarterback Rick Thomas (concussion) will return this week. Running back Monte McKeon (broken ankle) might return for Canyon’s regular-season finale against Valencia.

Valencia running back Donavan Calhoun, who had a string of 13 consecutive 100-yard rushing games snapped by Hart last week, is out for the season with a separated shoulder.

Signing on: Yusuf Yagmur was hired as Saugus girls’ soccer coach, replacing Bruce Burnham. . . . Miriam Strouble was hired as girls’ soccer coach at Grant. She was conference coach of the year last season after leading the Las Vegas Cimarron Memorial High girls (14-2-1) to a conference title.
