Chapman to Host Indie Film Seminar

Chapman University’s School of Film & Television will host a one-day seminar on the financing, production and distribution of independent films on Sunday from noon to 11 p.m.
Panelists include Chapman professor Steven Helvey, producer of the upcoming film “Hype”; Jon Gerrons, co-president of Strand Releasing; Randolph Pitts, CEO of Lumiere Films; and Jason Squire, editor of the Movie Business Book.
The panels will be followed by dinner, a keynote address by Howard Suber, co-chair of the UCLA Independent Producers Program, and a preview screening of “Hype,” which will be released in December.
The seminar will take place on the Chapman campus, Argyros Forum, 209 A-C, off of Center Street, between Palm and Sycamore streets in Orange.
The registration fee is $50.
