Loyola Marymount gets no reprieve after losing to USC, 97-78, on Monday at the Sports Arena. Xavier is off to its best start since opening the 1992-93 season 8-0. The Musketeers upset then-No.1 Cincinnati, 71-69, on Nov. 26 and are coming off a 95-64 victory over Florida A&M; on Monday. Four Musketeers are averaging double figures in scoring--forward James Posey (16.8), center Torraye Braggs (16.3) and guards Gary Lumpkin (16.0) and Lenny Brown (15.5). Loyola Marymount is getting good production from junior forward Ben Ammerman, who scored a career-high 25 points against the Trojans. Ammerman leads the Lions in scoring (17 points per game) and rebounding (6.0). But Loyola Marymount is averaging 21 turnovers and shooting 21.4% (15 of 70) from three-point range.
