Home Development Project Rejected
The City Council has rejected a plan to develop homes on a 7-acre parcel between McFadden and Bolsa avenues near Newland Street.
The land is owned by the Edison Co., which wanted to change the property’s zoning from semi-public to medium-density residential.
With a split vote, however, the council upheld a Planning Commission decision to deny the request. The proposed land use was labeled incompatible with surrounding residential developments because it would allow for higher density, two-story homes on small lots.
