Voice Powered to Merge With Colorado Firm

Voice Powered Technology International, a Sherman Oaks maker of voice-activated consumer products, said it has signed a letter of intent to merge with Fort Collins, Colo.-based Voice It Worldwide Inc. through a stock swap.

Voice Powered’s 1995 sales were $22 million; Voice It’s sales were $16 million.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The combined company is expected to have a dominant share of the hand-held digital voice-products market, the company said.

The merger is scheduled to close in the second quarter of 1997.
