Valencia Wins in Foothill to Get Out of Last

Fabian Leon and Jerrohn Jordan each scored 19 points Tuesday night, leading Valencia High to a 77-56 victory over Burroughs and giving the Vikings their first Foothill League triumph in the program’s two varsity seasons.
Leon had 12 rebounds and Jordan had 13 and three blocked shots for the Vikings (12-6, 1-3 in league play), who escaped last place for the first time, with Canyon falling to 0-4.
Juan Zavala led Burroughs (10-10, 2-2) with 20 points. Valencia outrebounded the Indians, 49-23.
In another Foothill League game:
Saugus 62, Canyon 55--Major Sherard had 29 points and six steals for the Centurions (8-10, 3-1) at Saugus.
Steve Eernisse scored 21 points for the Cowboys.
In other games:
Palmdale 77, Littlerock 60--Phil Langford scored 34 points in a losing effort for the Lobos (5-12, 0-2) in a Golden League game at Palmdale.
Markus Carr had 17 points, seven assists and four blocks for Palmdale (12-7, 2-0).
Santa Clara 47, Malibu 32--Scott Sorich came off the bench to score 17 points and help the Saints (11-4, 4-0) turn a one-point halftime lead into a Frontier League rout over the Sharks (4-10, 0-3) at Santa Clara.
Santa Paula 81, Calabasas 54--Bobby Baumann led all scorers with 24 points but the Coyotes (10-9, 1-3) lost to the Cardinals (11-6, 3-1) in a Frontier League game at Santa Paula.
Josh Jimenez scored 20 points for Santa Paula.
Moorpark 68, Nordhoff 57--The Musketeers (15-6, 3-1) took a 21-11 lead in the first quarter and never trailed against Nordhoff (5-10, 0-3) in a Frontier League game at Moorpark.
Kelani Ferreria had 19 points, making six of seven shots, for Moorpark.
Muir 83, Glendale 66--Trailing, 74-66, with 1:23 to play, the Dynamiters (7-12, 0-4) gave up a 9-0 run in a Pacific League game at Muir.
Freshman Tomik Iranofian had 21 points to lead Glendale.
Chadwick 58, Montclair Prep 49--Darin Brock scored 14 points but the Mounties (10-6) were unable to overcome a 30-8 run by the Dolphins in a nonleague loss at Montclair Prep.
L.A. Baptist 93, Maranatha 64--Jermaine Sweet scored 22 points despite playing with flu to lead the Knights (17-1, 5-0) in an Alpha League game at L.A. Baptist.
Paraclete 65, Desert 59--Tony Gaeta had 27 points and six assists for the Spirits (9-5, 3-0) in a High Desert League game at Paraclete.
Village Christian 58, Kilpatrick 57--Matt Thorpe’s 15-foot hook with five seconds to play lifted the host Crusaders (8-9, 4-2) to an Alpha League victory.
