WHO TO WATCH: Jarron Collins scored 23 points and twin Jason had 20 in Harvard-Westlake’s 75-46 first-round victory over San Diego St. Augustine. Senior guard Ryan Smiley, a two-year starter, had 18 points. Senior Nick O’Neill averages 16 points for Tehachapi, which defeated Cathedral City, 61-52.

FAST FACT: Harvard-Westlake routed Tehachapi, 81-42, in the opening round of the Southern Regional last season. The Wolverines have four starters from last year’s state championship team. Tehachapi’s starting lineup returned intact.

WHO TO WATCH: Junior Michelle Greco of Crescenta Valley has been unstoppable in the playoffs. Greco, averaging 33.6 points through five games, scored a school-record 54 in an 83-77 overtime victory Tuesday over Porterville Monache. Stanford-bound Naila Moseley, who averages 13 points a game, and Danielle Rainey, who averages 20, both scored 16 for Crenshaw in a 73-52 first-round victory over Oxnard.

FAST FACT: Crenshaw won its fifth City Section title this season, the Cougars’ fourth in the 4-A Division. Crescenta Valley lost to Buena in the Southern Section Division I-A final.

Tayyiba Haneef, a 6-foot-6 center for Laguna Hills, scored 17 points in a Southern Section II-AA title-game victory over Gahr and 25 points in a first-round victory over Lemoore.

FAST FACT: Milburn has signed to play soccer at Pepperdine, Haneef for volleyball and track at Long Beach State.

WHO TO WATCH: Alemany guard Kelli Kobayashi, who averages 16 points, hit four three-pointers in the Indians’ 53-43 first-round victory at Oakhurst Yosemite. Alemany’s Kate Beckler averages 12.5 points. Tashara Carter averages 13 points and seven rebounds for Bishop Montgomery. Danielle Graham averages 14 points and six rebounds.

FAST FACT: Bishop Montgomery, Southern Section III-A champion, defeated Alemany, 63-46, in February and has beaten the Indians during the regular season the last two years.

WHO TO WATCH: Bell-Jeff’s Cheryl Flores has averaged 15 points, six steals and six assists the last two games, and Jaclyn Johnson can dominate. Katie Pyle, a 5-7 junior guard, averages 15 points for the Pirates. Former Village Christian forward Ashley Wornall starts for Santa Ynez.

FAST FACT: Bell-Jeff, going for its 30th consecutive victory, has lost only to Crescenta Valley. The Guards defeated Santa Ynez, 64-46, in the Rio Mesa tournament earlier this year.
