Jay Elbettar has been appointed the city’s building director, succeeding Raimar Schuller, who recently joined the engineering firm Berryman and Henigar.
As building director, Elbettar will be responsible for interpreting and enforcing the city’s building code. He will also supervise plan review, permit issuance and building inspection operations.
Elbettar has been a building official for the city of Glendale since 1990.
