TRANSFORMATION: A one-day workshop titled “Enneagram 2”...

TRANSFORMATION: A one-day workshop titled “Enneagram 2” will focus on the enneagram, described as a “system of human development based on the nine personality types” and how knowing these types helps in understanding “why we do what we do.” The workshop, which includes presentations, individual and group work, and speakers, is for those who completed “Enneagram 1” and will be led by Linda Snow from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Holy Spirit Retreat Center, 4316 Lanai Road, Encino. RENEWING SPIRITUALITY: “Experience Joy for Jesus,” a three-day program described as fostering spiritual renewal, will be lead by evangelist Kimball Coburn. The program will include dinner and a service, at 7 p.m. Friday at St. John’s in the Valley United Methodist Church, 20600 Roscoe Blvd., Winnetka. On May 31, beginning at 10 a.m., the workshop’s second day includes a continental breakfast, Bible study, family time and dinner. CELEBRATING WITH DIGNITY: Dignity San Fernando Valley, a congregation for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Catholics and their families and friends, will hold its first anniversary celebration. A banquet and awards presentation ceremony will be followed by a dance at 6:30 p.m. May 31 at the Castaways, 1250 Harvard Road, Burbank. The cost is $35. MEDITATING: A special service of Jewish meditation, which includes breathing exercises, guided imagery and other techniques, will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at Congregation Beth Knesset Bamidbar, 1611 E. Avenue J, Lancaster. The purpose of the meditation service, which is the first in the synagogue’s 45-year history, is to allow congregants to look inward without the use of prayer books or a fixed liturgy, said Rabbi Alan Henkin.
