Granada Hills Doubles Team Seeks Revenge

The Granada Hills High boys’ tennis team lost to Palisades in the City Section championship match two weeks ago, but the Highlanders will have a chance to exact revenge.
Deepu Murthy and Steve Ishoo of Granada Hills defeated Kevin Suh and Blake Baumgarten of Palisades, 6-7 (7-4), 6-2, 6-3, in the semifinals of the section doubles tournament Wednesday at the Studio City Racquet Centre.
Second-seeded Murthy and Ishoo will face top-seeded Jung Cho and Adam Pennella of Palisades in the final Friday at 1 p.m. at the Racquet Centre.
Cho and Pennella beat Evan Press and Matt Weiss of Granada Hills, 2-6, 6-1, 6-2.
The singles championship will be all-Palisades after Artin Tafazoli upset second-seeded Anthony Gabriele of Birmingham, 6-3, 6-4. Tafazoli will play top-seeded teammate Danny Westerman.
