FULLERTON — A 32-year-old La Habra man who reportedly attacked his estranged wife’s boyfriend Thursday night died shortly after an ensuing scuffle, police said.
The man, whose name was not released Friday, was unconscious when officers arrived and died soon after at Anaheim General Hospital, Fullerton Police Det. Doug Kennedy said.
An autopsy was performed Friday to determine the exact cause of death, but results were still pending late in the day. The body showed no obvious, fatal wound, Kennedy said.
At 7:10 p.m., the police received a report of a fight at a woman’s home in the 700 block of South Highland Avenue, Kennedy said. The woman said her estranged husband had forced his way into the house and confronted her boyfriend.
No weapons were found at the scene.
Police questioned the other man involved in the fight, although they would only identify him as a 30-year-old Hacienda Heights man. No arrest was made, and the death may be ruled a self-defense killing.
“That’s a possibility; we’re not ruling that out,” Kennedy said. “The investigation is ongoing.”
