Egypt Expert to Talk on Mummification

The Archaeological Institute of America--Orange County Society will present a lecture Dec. 14 on ancient Egyptian mummification techniques.
Benson Harer, director of the American Research Center in Egypt, plans to discuss Egyptian afterlife beliefs and the latest techniques for analyzing a mummified body.
Harer is known for an autopsy he performed on an Egyptian noblewoman mummy stored in London’s British Museum.
The lecture begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Lyceum at Southern California College, 55 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. Fees are $5 for nonmembers and $2 for students.
