Impco Technologies Inc. said it signed a five-year, multimillion-dollar agreement with General Motors Corp. to develop alternative fuel systems for the auto maker’s cars and trucks. Impco is a Cerritos-based maker of alternative fuel products, including systems that allow internal combustion engines to run on propane and natural gas. It began supplying fuel technology to GM in 1994. Under the new agreement, GM will purchase fuel delivery systems from Impco and the companies will share staff and facilities and the licensing of some technology. The companies also will continue independent fuel research. The company’s name changed from AirSensors Inc. in September. Impco shares fell 6 cents to close at $11.25 on Nasdaq.
