Environmentalists Set Tribute to Bard

The Environmental Defense Center is sponsoring a tribute Sunday to environmental activist Carla Bard, who died last month in an automobile accident.
The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the San Buenaventura Ballroom of the Four Points Ventura Harbortown Hotel at 1050 Schooner Drive, Ventura.
Donations can be made to the Carla Bard Legacy Fund, which is being established to perpetuate Bard’s environmental activities.
Former chairwoman of the State Water Resources Control Board, Bard was a Ventura-based analyst for the EDC when her car crashed on a trip to a Planning and Conservation League meeting in the Bay Area on Nov. 15.
