Hotline Set Up to Help Find Store Owner’s Killer

Police have set up a 24-hour hotline seeking information on the shooting death of a convenience store owner killed during an attempted robbery last week.
Houssam “Sammy” Joudi, 31, was shot in the chest Nov. 7 just after 1 a.m. at the Quick Stop Market on Artesia Boulevard. Joudi died at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center about 40 minutes later.
Witnesses told police a gunman came into the store about closing time and demanded money, police said. The gunman fled and was last seen running north on Vail Avenue.
