Volunteers Lend Hand at Foster Home

Managers of the Park Hyatt Los Angeles in Century City traded in their suits and ties for jeans and sweatshirts Monday as they volunteered to paint a Crenshaw district home for children who have been abandoned or neglected by their parents.
More then a dozen employees of the Century City hotel painted the interior of the Merry Heart Home, which provides care to children whose parents are abusive or addicted to drugs. The volunteer act was part of the Hyatt Corp.’s program called Families of Responsible and Caring Employees. Each of the Hyatt hotels around the world adopts an organization to aid.
“It makes us feel great that we can make a difference,” said Chantal Mariotti, director of human resources at the Park Hyatt, who added that dozens of turkeys will be delivered to the center today. “Many of these kids will probably never be adopted, and it is nice to help them.”
