Senate Confirms Foley, Fowler as Ambassadors

WASHINGTON — Former House Speaker Thomas S. Foley is on his way to Japan as U.S. ambassador following Senate approval of his nomination Monday.
Senators also approved a former colleague, Democrat Wyche Fowler Jr. of Georgia, as ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
