What Is Agenda of Businesswoman?

I am writing to add my support for the argument presented by Fred Sheridan of Thousand Oaks in his Aug. 24 letter concerning Jill Lederer, owner of several Domino’s Pizza shops.
Mr. Sheridan made some very appropriate points and there is no need to repeat them here. However, there is one point that bothers me that has not been raised. If Ms. Lederer, an accomplished businessperson, is willing to invest more than $125,000 to reshape the City Council, I would expect that she must be looking for something in return from that City Council. An accomplished businessperson knows how and where to make investments to get a desired return. She doesn’t live here, so that rules out the “just another concerned resident” angle. If chasing the prize is worth over $125,000 to one experienced businessperson, just how much prize money is up for grabs? And why is it so important to get rid of council member Elois Zeanah now, when just a year from now she must stand for reelection anyhow?
Good citizens of Thousand Oaks: The next time you buy a Domino’s Pizza, you are contributing to this hidden agenda. Let’s have the regular election determine who should represent us. And let’s not make it easy to buy our local government.
