Man Held in Girlfriend’s Death in Anaheim

ANAHEIM —  An unidentified man was in custody Sunday on suspicion of shooting his girlfriend to death in a Beach Boulevard motel, police said.

The man was arrested Saturday night outside a room at the Ramada Limited at 800 S. Beach Blvd., where officers found a wounded woman, according to Sgt. Craig Hunter. The victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of her family, was later pronounced dead at Columbia West Anaheim Medical Center, Hunter said.

Officers had rushed to the motel about 9:30 p.m. after a male caller told dispatchers he had just killed his girlfriend, Hunter said. On Sunday, detectives continued their investigation and declined to elaborate on the details of the crime.
