In the quarterfinals of the Woodbridge tournament:

Cypress 4, No. 4 Woodbridge 3 (11)--Lisa Monreal scattered nine hits and shut out Woodbridge for nine innings. Sasha Campbell had a two-run double, and Amanda Meixel an RBI double in the 11th to beat Christy Robitaille in a tie-breaker.

Upland 3, Kennedy 2--Jamie Canfield pitched a six-hitter for Upland.

In consolation games:

La Crescenta Crescenta Valley 1, No. 7 La Habra 0--Merideth Cervenka pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts for Crescenta Valley (14-4). Christina Gibbons pitched a two-hitter for La Habra (12-4-1).

No. 5 Santa Margarita 7, Aliso Niguel 1--Nicole Weibort pitched a seven-hitter for Santa Margarita. The Eagles lost to Saugus, 1-0, in another consolation-round game.

Trabuco Hills 7, Mission Viejo 1 (6, time limit)--Jessica Jarnigan pitched a two-hitter. The Mustangs scored six runs in the third inning. The Mustangs (8-6-1) also defeated Bellflower, 3-0, in eight innings.

In the Charter Oak softball tournament:

Brea Olinda 3, Hacienda Heights Wilson 2--Jeanine Holloway singled home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh for Brea (9-4).

In the Century League:

El Modena 5, Santa Ana Valley 0--Erin Norton (two hits, one RBI) held Santa Ana Valley to one hit through six innings and struck out six for El Modena (11-3-1, 1-0). Seeley Bair added a two-run double.
