Louisville Falls in Water Polo Semifinals

SANTA BARBARA — Santa Barbara High scored four goals in the first quarter and defeated Louisville, 9-5, in the semifinals of the Southern Section Division II girls’ water polo playoffs Thursday at UC Santa Barbara.
Meika Mosby scored twice for Santa Barbara in the first quarter, including the Dons’ fourth goal with 28 seconds left.
Santa Barbara (28-1) led, 9-0, before pulling most of its starters in the fourth quarter.
Kiley Grombarcher scored Louisville’s first goal with 2:46.
Kim Feig, who had four goals for Louisville (21-3) in a quarterfinal victory Tuesday against Arcadia, was held in check.
Feig scored her 72nd goal of the season late in the game.
“That was the difference in the game, keeping her from beating us,” Santa Barbara Coach Mark Walsh said.
