Cougars’ Wilde Sparks Victory

Leah Wilde made five three-pointers as Capistrano Valley defeated Cerritos Gahr, 57-44, in a nonleague girls’ basketball game Saturday at Gahr High.
Wilde finished with 16 points and teammate Monique Mathews led the Cougars with 21.
Capistrano Valley (16-3), ranked seventh in Division I-AA and fourth in the county, took a 33-24 halftime lead.
Gahr (15-5), ranked fifth in Division II-AA, trailed by 14 after three quarters.
