On the eve of the opening of conference play, Washington State lost its most dangerous player, Rodrigo de la Fuente, who signed with a professional team in Spain and plans to play in the Olympics. To make things worse, Washington State, which just got swept at home by the Bay Area schools, plays its next four games and six of its next eight on the road.
