Police Aim to Slow Drivers Down With Radar Trailer
- Share via
In an attempt to slow speeders, the city has bought a radar trailer to remind motorists of speed limits in neighborhoods and school zones.
The $10,000 trailer is equipped with a radar gun that clocks the speed of passing vehicles. A sign reminds motorists of the posted speed limit and a display shows their speed. A red light flashes if the vehicle is speeding.
“We will use it all over the city,” City Manager Fred Maley said.
Some streets already have been selected: Villa Park Road, Santiago Boulevard, Center Drive, Vida Drive and Valley Drive.
