Sheffield Strikes Out 14 and Calabasas Wins, 4-2

Chaney Sheffield had 14 strikeouts and allowed two runs in seven innings, helping Calabasas to a 4-2 victory in eight innings over North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake on Thursday in an American Legion District 20 baseball game at Franklin Field.
John Voita, who had two of three hits for Calabasas (2-0), hit a run-scoring single in the eighth. Brendon Cohen hit a home run for Calabasas in the first inning.

Van Nuys East 13, North Hollywood-Poly 2--John Puccinelli had three hits and an RBI for Van Nuys East in a District 20 game at Poly High that was called after six innings because of the 10-run rule.
Ryan Stonerock had two hits and three RBIs for Van Nuys East (2-0).
North Hollywood-Poly is 1-1.
West Hills Chaminade 5, Woodland Hills Taft 2--Jordan Hoff had three hits, including a double a home run, and drove in two runs for West Hills Chaminade in a District 20 game at Chaminade High.
Jason Urquidez (1-0) pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on one hit for West Hills Chaminade.
Josh Wade had the only hit for Woodland Hills Taft, a one-out double in the fifth inning.
Panorama City 6, North Hollywood 4--Josh Sage hit a run-scoring single in the seventh inning that broke a 4-4 tie in a District 20 game at North Hollywood High.
John Hubbard hit a game-tying single in the seventh for Panorama City (1-0), which rallied for three runs in the inning.
Hubbard also hit a two-run home run in the third inning.
Jeff Skobin had two hits and scored twice for Panorama City.
Antelope Valley 15, Tri Cities Highland 5--Mike Seward had three hits, including a two-run home run, and Brett Roth had four hits for Antelope Valley (2-1) in a District 20 game at Highland High that was called after six innings because of the 10-run rule.
Jason Allec had a grand slam for Tri Cities Highland (2-1), which won its first two games by the 10-run rule.
Newhall-Saugus-Hart 16, San Fernando 6--Tim Hutting and Mike Granger hit two-run home runs for Newhall-Saugus-Hart in a District 20 game at Hart High.
Hutting, who also had a double, finished with three RBIs.
J.T. Stotts added three hits and two RBIs.
