A Veritable Gold Mine of Wit, Imagination

Christopher Lowell is a treasure (“The Sultan of Swatches,” by Robin Abcarian, May 3), and his show is a gold mine of wit, imagination, charm and creativity. He is fun, and funny, and a really good sport. A well-done interview.

Lowell (affectionately known in our house as the “Corky St. Clair” of interior design) must have been lampooning Carol Burnett lam- pooning Scarlett O’Hara. In one of Burnett’s classic episodes, she floated down the stairs in dark-green velvet drapes, replete with curtain rod, gold fringe and tassels, while an enthralled Harvey Korman awaited.
The intensely creative Lowell was no doubt inspired by the equally inspired Burnett. Both are a hoot.
