An uncovered lightbulb is being blamed for a fire at an east end condominium complex that caused $125,000 in damage, authorities said Thursday.
The fire erupted about 12:30 p.m. in a unit of the two-story building in the 8600 block of Twin River Circle, authorities said.
An unidentified teenager and her dog were inside the condo when the fire began, but they escaped unharmed.
Ventura Battalion Chief Bill Rigg said the fire broke out when a lit, uncovered lightbulb came into contact with clothing in a downstairs closet. The fire engulfed the closet, then spread to the living room.
Fifteen city and county fighters contained the blaze to the living room.
