Former Mayor Buckles Again Assumes Post

In the annual changing of the guard, Mary Ann Buckles became the new mayor of South Gate this week after being its mayor pro tem.
Buckles, who was mayor in 1993 and has been on the City Council since 1990, has been active in the community for years, serving on the Citizens Advisory Committee and the Planning Commission.
The new mayor pro tem is Henry C. Gonzalez.
