CASTAIC — Two bodies found in a crashed car at the bottom of a ravine near Lake Hughes Road have been identified as those of two men missing since March, Officer Rick Miler of the California Highway Patrol’s Newhall station said Saturday.
The bodies of Jared Bevan, 20, of Lancaster, and Michael Lee Stearman, 23, of Palmdale, were identified after Bevan’s 1978 Chevrolet Malibu was spotted Thursday by members of a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department helicopter crew who had been searching for the men.
Bevan and Stearman were reported missing March 30, two weeks after they left for a camping trip at Castaic Lake.
