Several rounds of gunfire apparently aimed at a Huntington Beach couple early Thursday riddled their apartment and woke the neighborhood, but nobody was seriously injured, police said.
About 3:20 a.m., residents in the 19000 block of Deep Harbor Drive were awakened by the sound of numerous gunshots, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Luis Ochoa said.
The shots, fired from the sidewalk, apparently targeted the couple, who were asleep in their bedroom, police said.
Their 9-year-old child was sleeping in another room.
“No one was really injured, but the residence was damaged,” Ochoa said.
The woman, 40, was grazed by either a bullet or flying debris.
The man, 47, and the child were not harmed.
No suspects have been identified, and investigators said they have no motive.
Police asked Thursday that anyone with information call detectives at (714) 375-5066.
