Men’s Soccer
The Cal State Fullerton men’s soccer team scored three goals in last week’s games against California and Stanford, and Jackson had two of them. He had the team’s only goal in Sunday’s tie with Stanford and one of two goals in Fullerton’s victory over California. Jackson, a junior from Claremont, has a team-leading 16 goals in 19 games.
THIS WEEK
Men’s basketball: The Titans, who play their final exhibition game at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Titan Gym against the Blue Angels, open the regular season at 6 p.m. Monday at Kansas State with a rebuilt team led by junior Ike Harmon and senior Mark Richardson. Kansas State has three starters back from a team that was 17-12 last season, finishing in a tie for seventh in the Big 12 Conference.
Women’s basketball: Fullerton begins its second season under Coach Denise Curry at 7 p.m. Monday against Oakland in Titan Gym.
Men’s soccer: The 11th-ranked Titans (13-4-2) close the regular season at 2 p.m. Sunday at UC Irvine. Fullerton defeated California, 2-1, then tied eighth-ranked Stanford, 1-1, in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation road games last week. UCLA and Washington are tied for the conference lead with 6-1 records with two games to play. Fullerton is 6-1-1.
Women’s volleyball: The Titans (9-16, 3-11) finish their season with matches at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo at 5:30 p.m. Friday and at UC Santa Barbara at 7 p.m. Saturday. Fullerton ended a nine-game losing streak in Big West Conference matches by beating New Mexico State last week.
Wrestling: The Titans host the Cal State Fullerton Open all day Saturday. It’s an open meet for individuals. Fullerton was beaten by UC Davis, 25-15, in its first dual meet of the season last week.
