Cross-Country

Slater led Cal State Fullerton to 15th place at the NCAA regionals Saturday in Fresno, finishing 73rd with a time of 33:08 over the 10-mile course.

Slater, a junior from Alta Loma High, finished ninth at the Big West Conference championships in Denton, Texas. That performance qualified him for the all-conference team.

THIS WEEK

Men’s basketball: The Titans will face San Diego State in their home opener at 7 p.m. Saturday in Titan Gym. It will be the first meeting between the teams since the Titans won in overtime in 1995 in San Diego. San Diego State was 13-15 and sixth in the Pacific Division of the Western Athletic Conference last season.

Men’s soccer: Fullerton (14-4-2), seeded seventh for the NCAA tournament, hosts San Diego (11-8) at 2 p.m. Sunday at Titan Stadium. Fullerton is 9-1-1 in its last 11 and defeated San Diego in their only meeting (Sept. 18), 5-2.

Women’s basketball: Fullerton hosts Cal State Northridge in its second game of the season at 2 p.m. Saturday in Titan Gym. The Titans haven’t lost to Northridge in 18 previous meetings.
