* Re “Carpool Lanes Built, but Will They Be Used?” Oct. 9: How much more of this stupidity do we have to put up with?
The social planners have had their experiment with carpool lanes, and it’s clear to everyone that they don’t work. Fifteen years of spending taxpayer money to play God with traffic, and no results except more congestion and wasted billions of dollars.
Stop the madness, fire the failed functionaries and let’s get on with building the facilities to support our transportation needs. We all pay heavy gasoline taxes to build infrastructure, but our tax money gets spent on bogus moonbeam diamond lanes that satisfy the discredited theories of Jerry Brown-era failed visions while we all sit in traffic jams.
Let’s just bite the bullet and build freeways with our money instead of subsidizing financial disasters like Metro Rail. How much more money do we have to waste on doomed intellectual experiments before we get serious and start solving real problems?
