N. Korea Policy

* Re “A Failed N. Korea Policy,” editorial, Oct. 7:
Everyone knows that North Korea has been an especially difficult problem for the last 50 years. To say that our policies have left us looking foolish is counterproductive. It would be much more foolish to goad a paranoid regime into war.
Your suggestion to put “consequences into force” ignores the valuable input of South Korea, a people of the same blood and culture and the people with the most to lose. South Korea is finally a democracy, although a new one, but certainly deserves a voice in your “very American” editorial.
