Big 12 Tied to Holiday Bowl

The Big 12 Conference has agreed to a four-year contract renewal with the Holiday Bowl, completing a three-way tie-in with the Pacific 10 Conference and the Western Athletic Conference.
The Pac-10 runner-up will face a Big 12 team in the Dec. 30 game in San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium unless the WAC champion is ranked higher in the final 1998 Bowl Championship Series poll.
A similar arrangement is expected through 2001.
