Anteaters Defeat UNLV in Women’s Volleyball

UC Irvine stopped a three-match losing streak in women’s volleyball, defeating Nevada Las Vegas in four games Wednesday at Crawford Hall.
Larissa Carter had 20 kills and Brooke Witt had 17 for the Anteaters in the 15-10, 14-16, 15-10, 15-10 victory. Junior Tandie Wade had 14 kills and 13 digs for UCI (8-17).
Jeanette Graves had 25 kills for UNLV (16-6).
In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s soccer:
Fresno Pacific 3, Concordia 1--Concordia (1-17-1, 0-9) took a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the game on Jose Pineda’s goal, but Fresno Pacific rallied for the victory in Irvine. Fresno Pacific (12-4, 7-2), ranked No. 21 in the NAIA, tied score on Izidoro Mion’s penalty kick at the 14:29 mark and took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Gerardo Alvardo late in the first half.
Edgardo Contreras scored Fresno Pacific’s third goal in the 65th minute.
Point Loma Nazarene 4, Southern California College 0--Morteza Hirad scored two second-half goals to lead visiting Point Loma Nazarene (12-4-1, 5-4). The Vanguards (9-10, 4-5) were tied at halftime, 0-0.
In nonconference women’s soccer:
Southern California College 7, Hope International 0--Seven players scored for SCC, which outshot Hope International 31-2.
