Ex-Fugitive Soliah Seeks Name Change

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Former fugitive Kathleen Ann Soliah is seeking to have her name legally changed to Sara Jane Olson, the name she used to elude police for nearly a quarter century.
Soliah adopted the alias after settling in Minnesota, where she became a doctor’s wife and the mother of three girls.
Prosecutors in Los Angeles said a name change would not affect proceedings against Soliah, who faces charges that she planted bombs under police cars during the 1970s as a member of the Symbionese Liberation Army.
Soliah pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains free on bail while awaiting trial. She filed a name change application Thursday in Ramsey County District Court in St. Paul.
