Six football players who played for Birmingham High last season, including senior quarterback Max Parra, have enrolled at Van Nuys High.
The players have submitted proper paperwork to change schools, said Athletic Director Terry Stoller of Van Nuys. In most cases, in order to attend Van Nuys, students must move within the school’s attendance area.
“All these kids have Van Nuys addresses and all have documentation to back it up,” Stoller said.
Van Nuys was 9-4 and reached the City Division semifinals last season. Birmingham was 1-9.
Parra completed 62 of 135 passes for 868 yards and three touchdowns last season for Birmingham.
The other players are seniors Yesel Manrique, a potential starter at defensive back, and George Capistran, and juniors Miguel Lopez, Luis Arreola and Eddie Kirakosian.
