GLENDALE — A driver who was killed when he was partly ejected through a sunroof and crushed beneath his overturned vehicle was identified Saturday by California Highway Patrol investigators.
Arik Harutiunian, 34, of Glendale was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred about 7 p.m. Friday on the southbound Glendale Freeway, just south of the Foothill Freeway, CHP Officer Rosa Ray said.
Investigators said Harutiunian was alone in a 1999 Mercedes Benz when the car jumped a divider and collided with another vehicle before overturning and bursting into flames. No one in the other vehicle was injured, Ray said.
