The Orange County Water District has announced plans to pay $1.5 million for 10,000 acre-feet of high-quality ground water from San Bernardino County. The water, enough to satisfy 20,000 average-sized families for a year, will be transported from San Bernardino County to the Orange County ground-water basin for a year, and may be renewed in the future, district officials said.
