Alemany Hangs On at the End

Kate Beckler scored 25 points and Julie Mullins had 10 points and 14 rebounds to help Alemany High hold off Campolindo, 76-75, in a Lamirinda Shootout girls’ basketball game Saturday night at Acalanes High in Lafayette.
Julie Morris hit two baskets in the final 1:38 for Campolindo (14-2) to cut Alemany’s five-point lead to the final margin.
Alemany (12-5) made 18 of 24 shots in the second half and was 33 of 59 for the game.
In other girls’ basketball games:
Louisville 66, Thacher 48--Megan Wiser had 11 of her 23 points in the third quarter and the Royals (10-5) pulled away in a nonleague game at Louisville after Thacher had cut a 16-point second quarter deficit to four points at halftime.
Paraclete 56, Antelope Valley 42--Christine Lambert had nine of her 15 points and Erika Hernandez had seven of her 23 points in the fourth quarter for the Spirits (11-6) in a nonleague victory at Antelope Valley.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Ventura 83, Bakersfield 67--Renae Hofmann made seven three-point baskets, finishing with 29 points for the Pirates in a Western State Conference interdivision victory at Bakersfield.
Valerie Wiggins had 18 points for Ventura (18-3), and Aubrey Edgmon scored 21 for the Renegades (12-7).
Valley 74, Cuesta 52--Carrie Miller had 15 points and 10 rebounds off the bench and Tynisha Howze had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Monarchs (13-8) in a WSC interdivision game at Valley.
Howze made eight steals of Valley’s 30 steals.
Chante Gifford added 13 points for Valley.
Santa Barbara 66, Canyons 60--Kameelah Purdom had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars in a WSC interdivision setback at Canyons.
Tasha Allen scored 19 points for Canyons (13-5).
Santa Barbara is 15-4.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Crespi 71, Paraclete 44--Blake Tibbetts scored six of his eight points in the third quarter, when the Celts stretched a six-point halftime lead to 18 points in a nonleague victory at Paraclete.
Marcin Jagoda scored 13 points and Mike Grimes added 10 points for the fifth-ranked Celts (13-4).
Glenn Jones scored 11 points for Paraclete (5-12).
