Eric Christman of the Nautical Heritage Society will discuss the history of tall ships tonight at the Dana Point Historical Society. A hand-carved model of a three-masted tall ship, the Alert, was recently donated to the society by the daughter of its creator, Martin Murray. The Alert was one of two ships on which Richard Henry Dana sailed to Dana Point in the 1800s. The society meets at 7 p.m. at the Dana Point Heritage Museum, Blue Lantern Plaza, No. 104, 34085 Pacific Coast Highway. Information: (949) 248-8121.
