Prescription Benefits
The Republicans object to the universal prescription drug benefit for Medicare proposed by President Clinton. They think it would be too costly and should go only to a designated group that allegedly is presently without drug insurance. Yet when it comes to tax cuts, they want it across the board, even for the rich, who would benefit the most. Isn’t this position inconsistent, even hypocritical?
