Outfielder Shane Spencer, sidelined because of an irregular heartbeat, rejoined the New York Yankees on Tuesday and came into the team’s 5-3 victory at Chicago as a pinch runner in the second inning. He finished the game.
Spencer, 27, was re-evaluated July 12 and declared in stable condition with a normal heart rate. He went seven for 16 in five games with triple-A Columbus during a rehab assignment before being activated.
