Three people were shot and injured as they left a Fullerton nightclub early Saturday, police said.
The shootings occurred about 2 a.m. at Chaser’s Club on Orangethorpe Avenue, Fullerton Police Lt. Geoff Spalding said.
As patrons began leaving, someone from across the street fired shots into the bar’s parking lot, police said. Three security guards at the bar returned fire until the shooter fled, Spalding said.
Detectives do not know if the shooter is a man or woman and are unsure of a motive for the attack.
According to police, the injured patrons are: Marlin Walters, 21, of Tustin, who was shot in the stomach; Recci Canonigo, 19, of Los Angeles, who was shot in the left knee; and a 17-year-old girl from Santa Ana, whose left hand was struck by a bullet.
Canonigo and the unnamed girl were treated at local hospitals and released, police said. Hospital and police officials declined to give details about Walters’ condition.
