* Re Richard D. Lamm’s “A Misuse of the Next Dollar,” Commentary, Oct. 28: Thank God for rationality aligned with compassion. I will be eligible for Medicare in five years, and it would be nice to have prescriptions covered; but, obviously, the governmental imperative must be to deal first with the uninsured, most of whom are supporting Medicare for the elderly with their hard-earned tax dollars.
How cynical to prefer the “Medicare set” over the uninsured just because they tend to vote as a bloc.
