POMONA — An 8-year-old Pomona girl impaled on a wrought iron fence Tuesday was taken by helicopter to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, where she was listed in fair condition.
The child’s vital signs were stable, said Steve Rutledge, a hospital spokesman.
“She has a puncture wound to her abdomen and she will be in surgery,” Rutledge said. “But this does not appear to be life-threatening.”
County firefighters received a report at 5:05 p.m. that a child had slipped on a fence in the 800 block of Calpine Court, a dispatcher said.
The girl was then transported to the hospital where she received emergency treatment.
