Corona del Mar ended Laguna Beach’s 11-year hold on the Pacific Coast League by defeating University, 15-10, 15-3, 15-11, and clinching the girls’ volleyball league title Tuesday at Corona del Mar.
Corona del Mar (12-4, 7-0), which moved from the Sea View League this season, defeated Laguna Beach in both league matches this season.
“We showed we don’t only have six good players, but good depth coming off the bench,” Corona del Mar Coach Steve Conti said. “It’s exciting to achieve one of our goals. We got to the finals two years ago and that’s where we want to go again.”
