The Mission Viejo Library’s passport program, which allows residents to apply for and renew passports during evening and weekend hours, has generated $3,000 for the library since it opened Sept. 22.
Residents can go to the library Wednesday and Friday evenings and during the day Saturday rather than having to go to post offices during regular hours.
Valerie Meyer, director of library services, said the money will most likely be used to purchase reference materials, specifically reviews of literature, poetry and drama.
